Enhancements, if applied by a professional technician like myself will actually help to protect the natural nail plate, combatting flaking, splitting and breaking. It is a common myth that they harm your natural nails, only an untrained technician (e.g. over-filing or wrong removal) or badly treated enhancements (e.g. picked at, not conditioned daily) can harm your natural nail plate.

MAINTENANCE

To keep your nails in tip top condition, I advise all my clients to keep to fortnightly maintenance appointments, alternating between 1 infill and 1 rebalance, or if your nails grow quite fast, fortnightly rebalances.

However, if you do prefer, you can have a rebalance every 3 to 4 weeks and not have infills. However, your enhancement will have grown out more than recommended and this can change the overall look of the nail.

I will be able to safely remove your nail enhancements without any damage to your natural nail with professional products. I offer a free mini manicure to restore your nails to their natural best.

NAIL BITERS PROGRAMME

This will be a package of 4-6 weekly appointments to start you off, the maintenance fee is reduced to £10.00 if the first 4 appointments are pre-booked and paid for in full. At the end of the first 4 weeks I will be able to assess the nails to see if the further 2 weekly appointments are needed. If not, you will be able to change to the normal fortnightly maintenance appointments.

AFTERCARE

I want you to be happy with your enhancements and further more to stay happy with long-lasting and beautiful nails. I’ve put together some easy to follow steps to help you make this happen. A full consulatation and aftercare will be given at each appointment.

Nail enhancements may take some getting used to. They may feel weird at first and you may have to learn to use your hand in a different way. They will soon start to feel as natural as your own so don’t worry.

Make sure you book regular appointments to keep your nails looking tip top.

Don’t bite or pick at your enhancements, this can lead to weakening or breakage and can cause damage or thinning of your natural nails. It could also lead to infection.

If you notice your nail enhancement lifting, don’t pull or pick at it, return to the salon so I can repair it.

Wear rubber gloves when you wash up or clean. Detergents and solvents can be harmful to the natural nail plate.

Treat your nails with care, be especially careful when pulling washing out of the machine, opening cans and car doors.

When removing nail enamel always use an approved non-acetone remover as it is gentler on your natural nail plate and acetone can damage your enhancements.

To maintain healthy natural nails it is essential that you use cuticle oil daily, massaging it into your nails and cuticle area. Cuticle oil will keep your nails flexible, prolong their life and dramatically reduce the risk of breakage.

Invest in a hand lotion that will penetrate the skin and your nails, such as Solar Silk or Scentsations, if your skin is particularly dry, try Solar Butter. Do not use a hand cream or lotion that contains lanolin as this can damage your enhancements.

If you need your nail enhancements removed you should return straight to me. I will professionally remove them without harming your natural nail plate and then give you a mini manicure to help restore moisture and condition the natural nails.
